Kimberly Diep

Founder · BS, Accounting · BS, Business Administration (Finance) · LinkedIn

Kimberly has spent 25 years on every side of small-business finance. She started behind the counter — senior teller and banker roles at Washington Mutual, then senior customer relationship management at United Commercial Bank — before moving into the back office: a decade of hands-on bookkeeping and accounting for contractors, consultancies, and service businesses across the Seattle area.

From there she moved into public accounting as a client accountant at Bader Martin, P.S., one of Seattle's established CPA firms, and then spent seven years as an accounting consultant — parachuting into companies whose books, payroll, or tax filings needed rescue. Most recently she served as an M&A consultant for Nestlé. She holds a BS in Accounting and a BS in Business Administration with a specialization in Finance, and works with clients in English, Vietnamese, Mandarin, and Cantonese.

She founded Focused.Financial because consulting kept teaching her the same lesson: most finance messes she was hired to fix started with the wrong hire — a marketplace freelancer nobody vetted, or a role mismatch nobody caught. Focused.Financial is the fix moved upstream: rigorous vetting and honest role-matching, before the mess.

Kimberly reviews every article published on Focused.Financial for technical accuracy — payroll and tax references, accounting terminology, and rate data — before it goes live. When you see "Reviewed by Kimberly Diep" on our guides and resources, this is who stands behind it.
